The Suncoast Dermatology accounting department is always willing to assist our patients in meeting their financial obligations. For your convenience, we accept MasterCard and Visa as well as cash and checks. If necessary, a payment plan can be arranged with our accounting staff. We also accept payments via PayPal

Please realize that your insurance is a contract between YOU AND THEM. We do not participate with all insurances (there are thousands in existence) Ultimately, due to insurance companies frequent changes, it is your responsibility to ensure you have verified with YOUR insurance that you are going to a provider on YOUR list.

Medicare

We are a participating Medicare provider. You will be responsible for 20% of the approved as well as any deductible not yet met. We collect your portion at the time of your visit.

CHAMPUS / CHAMPVA / Tricare

We do not accept this unless prior arrangements and criteria have been met. You must have plan approval with the accounting staff prior to your claim being filed. All others will be expected to issue payment at time of service. All patients who have obtained prior approval will still be responsible for co-pay and deductible at time of service.

Medicare Supplemental Insurance

Several plans have signed an agreement with Medicare to automatically cross over. We have direct access to Medicare's database to see what insurances have been approved for crossover. If your insurance is on the list, we will gladly file it for you. If it is not, we will request your co-pay at the time services are rendered. We will provide you with appropriate paperwork so that you may file your second insurance and be reimbursed.

Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Florida

We are participating with a lot of the BC/BS plans. Since BC/BS has so many plans that you can choose, YOU must ensure you are going to a physician on YOUR plan. These change often, you should routinely verify with your insurance. You are responsible for any co-pay and deductible at time of service. We are not participating with any BC/BS HMO or Healthoptions product. As a result, you, and not your insurance, are responsible for payment to us in full at time of insurance. At this time, we do not participate with BCBS Hmo's or EPO products due to BCBS enrollment restrictions.

United Healthcare, Humana, Cigna and Aetna

We participate with many plans of United Healthcare, Humana, Aetna and Cigna, but not all. Check before your arrival to ensure it is a plan we participate with.  

Medicaid

We do not accept Medicaid or any Medicaid HMOs. Any Medicaid patient must go through clearance first with our office.

HMO's or Managed Care

We do not participate with all HMOs or Managed care plans. You are responsible for the entire payment at time service is rendered. Note: Most HMOs and Managed care plans will not reimburse you for your decision to go out of network. YOU must determine if your physician is in network.

No Insurance

If you do not have any insurance, we ask that payment be made when services are rendered. If you must set up a payment plan, we ask that you meet with our accounting office prior to your visit to determine if you qualify.

Affordable Healthcare Act ("Obamacare")

These plans are very restrictive. Contrary to statements, you cannot go to any physician/your physician at any time. Many of the plans offered are not contracting with physicians within Citrus County and/or other counties, thus forcing you to choose physicians outside of our county. This is not due to our lack of willingness, but the insurance companies bottom line. While we do participate with companies such as Humana and United Healthcare, the offerings they have under "Obamacare" do not offer any physician in Citrus County. You MUST check with the plan YOU CHOSE to ensure the physician is ON THE PLAN.

Cosmetic Procedures

All cosmetic procedures are payable prior to services being rendered.

CareCredit

We are participating with CareCredit. You must speak with a member of our billing department to determine your eligibility.

Outside Lab And / Or Charges

Please note that it may be necessary to utilize an outside laboratory for analysis of tissue obtained. Our office policy is to perform analysis on ALL specimens obtained. A separate charge will be incurred from that outside lab/facility which is billable to you.
